Hello, You! Penn Badgley transforms into dapper stalker Joe Goldberg to film You’s fifth and final season in New York City

Penn Badgley looked dapper and dangerous as he transformed into You stalker Joe Goldberg to film the hit show’s fifth and final season in New York City on Thursday.

The Gossip Girl alum, 37, looked pensive as he made his way down the streets of the Upper West Side in a black coat, pants, shirt and sunglasses.

The surliness of his character was offset by the beautiful cherry blossoms blooming on the trees lining the street.

The serial stalker wears a wedding ring on his left ring finger – indicating he has wed  his love interest from season four, Kate, played by Charlotte Richie.

Richie has been spotted on the set and their characters have been filmed kissing.

In the London-based season of the show she played an art director who hangs out with the wealthy set Joe has found himself entangled with.

At the end of season four, Kate was the one who found him an escape route and a way to reclaim his true identity.

Season five of the thriller series moves back to Manhattan, where it all began back in season one.

The tables have been turned on Joe in a way, as now he must try and avoid the attention of a serial killer.

The series debuted in 2018 on Lifetime and is based on the You series of books by author Caroline Kepner.

In season one, Joe worked in a bookstore and fell for NYU grad student and writer Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), at least until she met her untimely end.

The second season moved to Netflix, where it has stayed ever since, and found Joe  living in Los Angeles as a bookstore employee, now going under the name Will Bettelheim, who falls for heiress and health guru Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti).

The third season found Joe/Will buying a house, marrying Love and having a child with her…though he still found himself obsessed with two new women.

They both connect, ‘over literature and loss,’ which ‘stokes in him a nostalgia for his former self, causing him to question everything his life has become.’
